Abstract

Process replication can provide reliable and available distributed application services. On the other hand, a large amount of electric energy is consumed to provide replicated processes since multiple replicas of each application process have to be performed on multiple virtual machines in a server cluster system like cloud computing systems. In this paper, an improved redundant active time-based (IRATB) algorithm is newly proposed to realize energy-efficient server cluster systems for redundantly performing computation type application processes.
