Abstract

Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) is a key component of bone health assessment in children and adolescents with increased risk of fracture due to primary or secondary bone disorders. This chapter summarizes the principles and indications of DXA scans for clinical practice and the key concepts of interpretation of DXA results.
