Abstract

This chapter aims to delve into the essence of boredom and specify its place in the process of second and foreign language learning. The concept of boredom has only recently attracted the attention of second language acquisition (SLA) researchers, which explains why it is still an insufficiently researched and thus poorly understood emotion in this particular learning context (Chapman, 2013).
