Abstract
Letters and visits is a mechanism for resolving social contradictions with Chinese characteristics. At present, China is in a critical transition period. Diversified interests have caused frequent social contradictions, and the problem of petitions needs to be resolved urgently. The petitioning staff is the main body of the petitioning problem and is also the weak in the petition system. Based on the comprehensive motivation theory proposed by Porter and Lawler, and referring to the Job Satisfaction Survey developed by Paul E. Spector, the petition staffs working at Petition Center of Fuquan city, Guizhou Province are taken as the research object to explore their job satisfaction levels and influencing factors and promotion paths. Using the stratified sampling method, 246 valid questionnaires were issued, followed by descriptive statistical analysis, analysis of variance, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. It was concluded that the job satisfaction of petition staffs was not high, mainly due to dissatisfaction with work procedures, salary, promotion, benefits, performance rewards. Some individual attribute differences have significant effects on job satisfaction levels. More importantly, education level and annual income are significantly positively related to job satisfaction.
