Abstract
In this chapter, we provide the notation and concepts needed for our book. We assume the reader is familiar with basic set theory. We first consider notation. We let \(\wedge \) denote minimum or infimum and \(\vee \) denote maximum or supremum. \(\mathbb {N}\) denotes the positive integers.
