Abstract
There is a long tradition of transposing the ovaries before radiotherapy. Ovarian transposition offers preservation of ovarian function in many cases, and it is easy to combine it with other surgical procedures such as lymph node dissection. It is easy to perform but does not allow spontaneous pregnancies if the ovaries are fixed high up in the abdomen. Therefore, combination of ovarian transposition with cryopreservation of ovarian tissue might be necessary.
