Abstract

The article addresses the issues of electronic document management support in organization of international goods carriage. Sophisticated technologies of international cargo transportation and a large number of the process participants objectively require digitalization of their relationships. The problem of a successful “one-click” business in the context of the 4th industrial revolution calls for applied, effective solutions. A state-wide information system is necessary for the implementation of end-to-end integrated technology of network import transportation. The article discusses and analyzes the Russian Railways Holding experience, which, in light of the digital transformation of business, has formed a global information space for participants in rail transportation. The methods of operations research, process approach, logistics, and customer focus are used. A target model of digital business is proposed. The electronic document management technology implemented in the Russian railway industry is considered.
