Abstract

This book provides a comprehensive and authentic overview of current global nuclear developments. It details insights into current and past nuclear crises and reveals the nuclear capabilities, political strategies and motives of nuclear weapon possessors. By analysing the nuclear programs and strategies of various countries, including the official nuclear weapon powers USA, Russia, China, United Kingdom and France, as well as the de facto nuclear weapon powers India, Pakistan, North Korea and reportedly Israel, this book highlights the existing global nuclear threat and the risks it entails for the humanity and its civilization. It also describes the current deadlocks and suggests possible ways out. The author aims to raise awareness in the public, engagement of the cognizant and to trigger conscientious action by the decision-makers. Given its scope, the book will appeal to policymakers and scholars currently shaping, directly or indirectly, nuclear policy and more broadly global politics.
