Abstract

Cemented Material Dam (CMD) is a new type of dam first proposed in the world by the first author in order to solve overtopping failure problem of embankment dam and to decrease the cost of concrete dam. Methods have been investigated to build the Jinjigou CMD with soft rock material for the first time in the world. Mix design of materials and in-situ direct shear tests have been introduced. Meaningful results have been achieved.
