Fluorescence Videodermoscopy

Abstract

The fluorescence approach exploits either endogenous fluorophore proteins and pigments (autofluorescence) or fluorescent dyes or markers introduced into the organism from outside (secondary fluorescence). Fluorescence information can be translated into spectra and/or images of the skin. Many videodermoscopes that add fluorescence information are under study. In this chapter, we described what it is possible to observe under fluorescence advanced videodermoscopy.
