Abstract
A cancer patient debilitated from multiple complications, on TPN for nourishment, comes in because of underdosing pain meds. Pain is complex in a cancer patient, and other medications like ketamine may be useful. Exploring goals of care with her in the ED makes all the difference for debunking myths about palliative chemotherapy and hospice care.
