Abstract
MRI plays an important role in the diagnosis of spinal pathologies, including trauma, degenerative changes, arthropathies, infection, and tumors. An understanding of MRI, including basic physic principles, standard imaging protocols, and advanced sequences is important for proper interpretation and for ensuring the correct study is performed to best answer the clinical question.
