Abstract
Rethinking legal thinking is entering the stream of thought formations characterized as law in the course of ages. But it requires also an insight in the signs and signals visible at the horizon of the third decade of this century. The latter should receive a name to be recognized in the rethinking process as well as in outlines studying future thought patterns. The name proposed in this Brief includes those signs and signals as well as their horizon and is thus: ‘conversion jurisprudence’. Conversion is a simple expression, which became often equalized with ‘transference’, ‘translation’ or ‘transition’, even ‘metanoia’; but since the days of the generalization of our digital culture the term received more and more attention in scientific and social media. It is a sign that a rethinking law should not be misunderstood as being an attempt to re-write fragments of the history of legal thought formation.
