Abstract
This chapter focuses on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), considering the importance of a person-centred approach that includes good communication. It briefly explains the theory base and definition of PBS and outlines how support workers can develop and implement solutions to help people learn new skills. The chapter concludes with some simple strategies that can be incorporated into day-to-day work with people with learning disabilities that could help avoid or manage challenging behaviour.
