Abstract
Branding approaches of the territories, which are the driving force for the development of the recreational and tourism system, in particular, the religious tourism system of the Poltava region, are analyzed in the article. Religious tourism, based on a well-developed network of religious objects, most of which are architectural monuments, is one of the main and most important factors for the formation and development of small towns in Poltava region nowadays. On the example of Poltava region centers of religious tourism analysis, it is proved expediency of its usage for small settlements development.
