Abstract
A general working knowledge of cryptography is important to anyone working in cybersecurity. The NICE framework recognizes this. As you can see from the objectives of this chapter, there are several knowledge areas in the NICE framework that are devoted to cryptography. In this chapter, you will learn about these areas. Algorithms and applications will be covered. A deep math background is not required, as the NICE framework does not require a mathematical understanding of cryptography, but merely the ability to apply cryptographic solutions.
