Abstract
In this chapter, we look at the crucial role conversation plays in both the implementation and on-going operations of socio-technical systems often referred to as business architectures. Here, conversations are recognized as a key organizational reality both as an integral part of organizational processes/practices and as an important goal to achieve (i.e., ‘good’ conversations) when developing and implementing integrated organizational processes and their supporting technological tools. As such, the chapter will look at how promoting or discouraging conversation in both the development and maintenance of business architectures has material impacts and consequences within the workplace.
