Industry 4.0 Future Prospects and Its Impact on Competencies

Abstract

The presented paper deals with theoretical description of Industry 4.0 and its impact on new demanded employees’ competencies development in industrial praxis. The implementation of smart elements into the production and logistics sector will bring challenges in the field of industrial workforce as success of the enterprises largely dependent on qualified employees. The introduction of technologies will change the way how employees operate, from routine and repetitive tasks to other added value activities. The new skills and competences sets will be needed to consider. Continuous changes and dynamic development in the business and industrial environment and technological improvement currently demand from organizations to introduce smart solutions, smart devices and create innovation as well as to support the working competencies development. In the last part, the authors of the paper have summarized their own projects related to the competencies development and their results impact on the educational process in the field of Industrial Engineering and Management.
