Abstract

Nanobiotechnology is an essential area of science that relates advances in nanoscience associated with biotechnology. Nanostructures have very different potentials when compared to the material of origin on the macro scale, and the supramolecular interactions often potentiate these properties. For silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) synthesis, a stable medium is essential to establish the nanostructure. There are various routes to synthesize the AgNPs. This chapter involves the synthesis of AgNPs using the two approaches, chemical and green route. The choice of green synthesis becomes appropriate due to the efficiency of the dispersive medium and low environmental impact. The supramolecular chemistry approach justifies different ways to synthesize these nanoparticles that have a significant antimicrobial effect and can be used for healthcare material production.
