Abstract
The presented article points out the possibilities of efficient use of modeling and simulation software directly in production. The unnamed enterprise struggled with the problem of underutilizing the U-profile line of various shapes and surfaces. There were bending, cutting processes up to the packaging of the mentioned profiles. Another bottleneck was the output warehouse, which accounted for half of the company’s space, and its internal layout did not ensure a smooth flow of material. A gradual analysis of the line and the warehouse resulted in several bottlenecks and errors in production and warehouse management. We then modeled the necessary 3D machines and devices using Assembly Workspace using SolidWorks modeling software. We converted these modeled 3D objects into the Tecnomatix simulation software specifically into Process Simulate, a widely used module to streamline production on a given production line, and designed warehouse optimization and production line innovation, eliminating errors found and bottlenecks. The work also includes the process of creating models as well as the process of creating a simulation. The procedure details the simulation in the selected software module. The result is a comparison of the current state and the results obtained from the simulation software, where higher line utilization and smoother material flow were found, thus speeding up production and increasing line production.
