Abstract
The food, energy and water (FEW) nexus plays a vital role in food, energy and water security. The worldwide demand for these interconnected resources has been and is increasing which results in insecure resources. Food waste is also interconnected with energy and water; therefore, an isolation study is needed to secure resources. World food wastage is very high; however, food waste management requires more energy and water even after disposal. Different kinds of food wastes are produced, and most of them can still be utilized but they are wasted. Inappropriate disposal of food wastes means loss of energy and water pollution resulting in scarcity of natural resources. With the expanding population, the demand for food is rising which drastically impacts the environment indirectly. Major issues that prevail are water, food and energy crises. The solution to these crises requires a scientific approach and an educated use of natural resources. This way, the size of the expanding population and the availability of food can be made even.
