Abstract

Multi-agent systems is an interdisciplinary subject, which receives research interests from a variety of disciplines, such as computer science [5, 14], social science [13], control engineering [1, 6], and software engineering [49]. Due to the gap between different research disciplines, it would be difficult to provide a unified definition of an agent that works for all subjects. Nevertheless, the following definition, adapted from [14], might be appropriate from the control perspective.
