Abstract
Lidar stands for “light detection and ranging”. A Lidar sensor has one or more rotating laser beams and can generate several thousand distance points per revolution in a fraction of a second. Typical automotive Lidar sensors have 8, 16 or 32 separate beams that allow a much better interpretation of the 3D environment.
