Abstract

This chapter presents some of the principal characteristics of Colombia’s space activities. A general overview is described in Section One and Colombia’s space history is explained in Section Two. Section three focuses on Colombia’s space actors, Section Four analyses the country’s space legislation and Colombia’s ratification of international legal space instruments, Section Five analyses the cooperation programs adopted by Colombia and other international partners, and Section Six explains Colombia’s satellite capacities. Finally, Section Seven mentions some of the space related programs offered by Colombia’s universities.
