Abstract
Responses from focus group interviews with students on contrasting programmes are presented, discussed and compared. One is a group of adults attending a Komvux (Adult School in Sweden) institution, the other a group of upper secondary school following a range of combined academic and vocational programmes in England. No direct comparison is explicitly made between the two groups, but the data provided offer insights into similarities and differences in experience and outlook between them.
