Abstract
This book is the outcome of papers presented by scholars from the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Israel at a symposium held at Victoria University of Wellington, November 2018. The purpose of the symposium, and now this book, was to examine the impact and implications of the relationship between risk and criminal justice in the context of what we have referred to as ‘the revolt against uncertainty’ that can be discerned, to varying degrees and extents, across advanced liberal democracies. The global nature of this subject area and attendant themes is demonstrated by the international representation at the symposium.
