Abstract

In transmission systems using OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing), CP (Cyclic Prefix) is often removed at the receiver. This is really wasteful because CP carries information, energy and time diversity. Many studies have been conducted to exploit CP to bring the necessary information for the receiver. A new technique is introduced in this paper, which uses the information and diversity of CP to improve the efficiency for the BICM-ID OFDM system. The simulation results of the system show that the best value gain of CP exploitation on the Nakagami-m channel is about 1 dB.
