Abstract

Potential biomarkers also draw attention for their possibility of usage to be indicators of interactions between periodontal diseases and various systemic diseases. Numerous studies have reported possible mechanisms of interactions between periodontal diseases and systemic diseases/situations. This chapter provides an outline of the current literature on the potential of biomarkers for elucidating these interactions.
