Abstract
I arrived in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital, in the early evening, and by now it was dark. A good friend had warned me about Nigerians’ abrupt manners, their boisterousness and seemingly aggressive tone of voice. And once again, I discovered how wrong cultural stereotypes so often are. The people I met during my stay were polite, courteous and good-humored.
