Abstract
For a first rough introduction into tensors, we give a preliminary definition of tensors and the tensor product. The formal definition in the sense of multilinear algebra will be given in Chapter 3. In fact, below we consider three types of tensors which are of particular interest in later applications.
In view of all that … , the many obstacles we appear to have surmounted, what casts the pall over our victory celebration? It is the curse of dimensionality, a malediction that has plagued the scientist from earliest days.
