Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Criminology

Abstract

This chapter suggests there is considerable scope for scholarship on learning and teaching in criminology despite identifiable structural and cultural barriers. The chapter provides a preliminary study into the research publications on SCOLATIC in key criminology journals. The finding is that there is so little research of this nature being published despite the broader environmental pressures to ensure and enhance ‘teaching excellence’. Some reasons are suggested for the absence of such scholarship.
