Abstract

Filtration is the less expensive and most established process intended to mechanically separate the suspended solids from a slurry. Among the several existing filtration technologies the most suitable one can be detected according to the feed to be treated. It is usually operated as a batch process, thus an optimal residence time can be found in order to optimize the daily productivity. Whether a higher driving force is required the centrifugal configuration can be selected and modeled after performing an accurate operating conditions check.
