Abstract
This chapter examines how to build JDBC interfaces for a database engine. Writing an embedded interface is relatively straightforward—you simply need to write each JDBC class using corresponding classes from the engine. Writing a server-based interface also requires the development of additional code to implement the server and handle the JDBC requests. This chapter shows how the use of Java RMI can simplify this additional code.
