Advanced Practice and Leadership in Radiology Nursing

Abstract

Falls are a common devastating complication that can occur when providing medical care. Regulatory agencies share that thousands of people in the United States suffer a hospital fall yearly with a significant percent of the falls resulting in injury. Radiology departments provide care for patients across the age spectrum in inpatient and outpatient settings. This situation can provide a unique opportunity in the radiology department to prevent and educate patients about falls risk.
