Method for Data Collection

This chapter specifies the processes through which the researcher decided to create this work. The chapter explains how and why the subject schools were selected. It describes what types of data were and were not gathered, the reasoning behind those decisions, and obstacles faced in the gathering, sorting, and analysis of data. It guides the reader through the organization of the data into chapters, a process that took several attempts before finding a structure that was both informative about dance in HBCUs and also hopefully exciting for the reader. Following this, the researcher acknowledges the limitations of the study’s design and implementation, and potential ramifications of its findings.
