Abstract

The palliative approach in perinatal medicine aims at ensuring the comfort of newborns affected by a severe and incurable condition during all their lives, while respecting the law, ethics and principles of palliative care. This approach favours the baby’s meeting with his/her parents, siblings and other members of the family such as grandparents so as to build a common history and memories in a limited time. Recent years have seen significant changes in France, with the focus on working in partnership with parents.
