Abstract
Development and practical application of objective research methods for investigation of pattern that can be found in the controlled processes play important role in maritime activities’ management. In order to control, we must foresee. Ability to foresee comes only from learning about consistent patterns in the controlled processes. To realize the ability to foresee under modern conditions, one has to pay close attention to studies that allow to bring to light objectively conditioned, historically inevitable development trends in various fields of maritime activity, to determine the genesis of new theoretical and practical domains of management theory and to establish operating methods in new areas. Appearance of new methods is an objective aspect of advancement of methodology of obtaining knowledge about the controlled processes. Current stage of development of this methodology is inextricably linked to application of modern information technologies.
