Abstract
Case studies are a very useful tool to demonstrate mining transactions and can serve as a benchmark for similar transactions. In the case studies presented, the mining business cases from orebody to market and their applicable funding plans are outlined. The case studies provided are real, or close to the real deal and have led to the financing of mining and exploration projects, mining operations and mining equipment.
Case studies presented are a copper project seeking equity finance, a gold project securing farm-in finance from a strategic investor, the listing of a phosphate project, the reverse listing of a diamond project, a coal project securing project finance, a gold project securing development finance, corporate bond finance for a titanium metals project, a gold project securing streaming finance, offtake finance for a coal mine, insurance wrapped finance for an anthracite mine, a dolomite mine being vendor financed by contractors, a mining contractor securing equipment finance for opencast mining fleet and an iron ore selling assets to secure capital.
The case studies presented can serve as a benchmark for the reader’s own mining project seeking finance and can be adapted accordingly for a successful capital raise.
