Abstract

This paper presents the design and implementation of affordable small size visual surveillance system. The proposed system is less than 8 mm in thickness, allowing it to go underneath common household doors. The system is controlled by handheld mobile devices, such as a smart phone or laptop, which provide good quality images/video wirelessly using Wi-Fi. The single board computer actuates the sub micro motors on the basis of commands provided by the user through the smartphone. The system can be further improved to provide better resolution images and long range operation using Radio-frequency protocols.
