At the time of publication (Spring 2020) both Dragon 2 and CST-100 are scheduled to carry crew in mid 2020. Eric Boe was replaced by Michael Finke when he was deemed unable to fly for medical reasons.

Theories of sabotage by a homesick crew member or impact by micrometeorites were dismissed. It was determined that the Soyuz capsule was damaged by workers on the ground and a botched repair was attempted and covered up. Drill marks near the hole were made by a type of drill not on the station. Sealant used to fill the hole dried out in orbit and hence the leak occurred.

Belgian astronaut Frank De Winne commanded the station during Expedition 21 in 2009.

Vasili Lazarev and Oleg Makarov survived the descent. Makarov went on to fly in space twice more on-board Soyuz 27 and Soyuz T-3, both flights to the Salyut 6 space station.

John Young is the only spacefarer to have commanded four different types of spacecraft: Gemini, Apollo Command and Service Module, Apollo Lunar Module and space shuttle. He flew on the first Gemini and the first space shuttle. He orbited the Moon on Apollo 10 and he walked on the Moon during Apollo 16. He retired from NASA in 2004, aged 74, but continued to attend Astronaut Office Monday morning meetings for years.

In a divorce and custody battle, McClain’s wife Summer Worden accused McClain of identity theft, i.e. accessing her bank account from a computer on board the ISS. This was the first allegation of a crime in space.
