Abstract

The functional framework for beams with intermediate piers is introduced. First, some results for the associated linear stationary problem are given, showing the possible loss of regularity of the solutions, due to the presence of the piers. Then, a spectral result characterizing the eigenvalues is stated and the explicit form of the associated eigenfunctions is provided, together with their nodal properties.
