Abstract
This chapter introduces the main challenges and novelties realized in the recent years for the CAPTCHA test. Hence, it focuses on the new directions of the test, by answering to the question: “What are the main characteristics of the new generation CAPTCHA tests?”. Accordingly, we will show some important features of the modern CAPTCHA. They answer to the need of designing more “user-friendly” puzzles which could be easier to be solved, and at the same time more powerful systems making harder the attacks made by the bots. These requirements are mainly accomplished by adding interactivity, animation, motion, image visualization and fun inside the CAPTCHA. In this chapter, we extend the description of some CAPTCHA types given in Chap. 6 and describe other CAPTCHA types.
