Abstract
This chapter discusses the application of volumetric imaging techniques, multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), in the planning of zygomatic implants. The strengths and weaknesses of these modalities are compared. The relevant anatomic structures demonstrated with these modalities are reviewed. Radiological identification of pathology associated with the maxillary-zygomatic complex and adjacent structures is a critical aspect introduced in this chapter.
