Abstract
There are a variety of techniques to identify neurolaryngeal pathway disruptions. This chapter addresses voice assessment of neurogenic voice disorders and their aural, aerodynamic, acoustic and endoscopic attributes. The clinician is provided with sample interview questions, self-rating scales, instrumental and noninstrumental assessment procedures. When common disease traits are not appreciated, time, trial voice therapy and collaborative care with neurology colleagues are advised. Developing multidisciplinary teams helps direct care to appropriate providers and is important for individuals with multisystem involvement.
