Abstract
The conclusion draws together the key themes of the book’s exploration of New York’s animation culture, and discusses how new ways of using, understanding and creating animation were generated within this culture. Crossing boundaries between cultural fields, enlivening existing arts and opening up new ways of seeing, animation offered an expansive and creative form for advertisers, artists, designers and filmmakers during this febrile period in its rich and multifaceted history.
