Abstract
Correlation matching is an easy method for target image tracking. But global searching is large amounts of calculation, and target will be lost when shaded. The combining use of correlation matching and Kalman filter will predict a possible position in the next frame which reduces the calculation time and prevents from losing target. In this paper, this combined algorithm is improved by using a self-updated matching template and a self-adapted detecting window. This method can well overcome the disturbing by spinning, scaling, or transforming of the target and indeterminacy of movement. Because of these advantages, this algorithm can be used in target tracking system on spacecraft.
