Abstract
Poor employee recruitment can have significant implications for organisations. Occupational assessment is a pivotal component of recruitment that can protect against poor hiring decisions. There are a range of assessment tools for examining attributes and behaviours relevant to the workplace, including personality and integrity testing. There has been recent interest in “dark personality” traits in the workplace and methods of assessing these traits. The chapter will explore prominent and emerging assessment instruments from the field of organisational psychology that have application in the workplace discussing strengths, gaps and implications for the use of these tools.
