Abstract
Bariatric surgery has experienced a tremendous improvement in clinical outcomes such as morbidity and mortality through the accreditation process. An additional area of improvement includes readmissions, which has significance to payors and patients alike. This chapter describes why readmissions matter, what readmissions risk factors are, and how readmissions can be prevented.
