Abstract
Since its discovery in 2012, ferroptosis has been well characterized as an iron-dependent regulated form of cell death caused by the accumulation of lipid-based reactive oxygen species. The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response is one of the interesting biological events in ferroptosis. Recent studies reveal that the ferroptotic agent-induced ER stress response plays an important role in the crosstalk between ferroptosis and apoptosis. This chapter presents the current state of knowledge on the ferroptotic agent-induced ER stress response and its role in the crosstalk between ferroptosis and other types of cell death.
