Abstract
A short overview of the most recent results on SAS from deterministic fractals is presented and the fundamental distinction between SAS from mass and surface fractals is emphasized. The behavior and key properties of classical scattering models such as simple power-law or Beaucage are explained, indicating their most common applications and limitations. The important role played by deterministic fractal models in extracting additional structural information from SAS data is underlined.
